Bewakoof is India’s largest Casual Wears and Lifestyle Brand and E-commerce platform. Its headquarter is situated in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The Bewakoof founder was Prabhakiran Singh and Siddharth Munot.
The Bewkoof founded as the Trendy and witty T-Shirt Brand by two IIT Bombay Ex-students. In 2012, Bewkoof launched as an E-commerce platform for the youth and its portfolio includes trendy fashion apparel for men and women. The Bewakoof founder Prabhakiran Singh and Siddharth Munot, both of them are Civil Engineers pass out from IIT BOMBAY. After graduation, both went to separate career options.
Prabhakaran started the ‘Khadke Glassi’ Lassi Shop outside his college. But unfortunately, it didn’t work very well due to fewer sales of Lassi and closed down the Lassi Shop. Siddharth Munot also started working with an educational start-up forum. But both weren’t satisfied with their work.
Then the duo decided to start their own business of T-shirt printing. The t-shirt printing business was started but they didn’t think about the brand names. Prabhakiran and Siddharth start searching for the Trendy named sitting in front of the college campus. That time across the college campus ‘April Fool’ (Bewakoof) topic was trending, so they got the name. They were brought to the Bewakoof.com domain and it’s officially launched in 2012 by them.
The company targeted the college student’s audience through the annual event and college students loved the t-shirt with humorous design despite different trending topics of college life.
Products and Market Share-
Bewakoof.com started as a fashion E-commerce platform with humorous and creative design apparel. Later they diversified the portfolio including mobile phone covers, premium glass cover, Electronic audio, Bags & backpack, Notebooks, etc. The company Ghanta collection of t-shirts for college students with the tagline like Ghanta Engineering, Ghanta MBA. It was a big hit for the Bewakoof.com brand. The Bewakoof have collaboration stores with Star Wars, Marvel, DC l, Disney, F.R.I.E.N.D, and Tom & Jerry. It also included separate trending topic t-shirts segments with regional languages like Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, and Telugu.
The Bewakoof sold approximately 1 Cr. Products up to date and 60 lakh customers now used their Mobile application. They listened to 1.5 billion fan base audience ideas and concepts through the social media platform. Bewakoof has competitors from E-commerce platforms such as Flipkart, Myntra, Amazon and Shein, etc.
Bewakoof Investment and Revenue-
Bewakoof.com invested in its Business model to meet the increasing demands of fashion apparel. it has raised 805.6 million funds from investors. The Snapdeal founder Nikhil Vora, Kunal Bahl, Rohit Bansal, and Angel Investors group these people have invested in the company.
The Bewakoof Private Limited operating revenue range is 100 Cr. To 500 Cr. As per the Financial year 2019. The Estimated annual revenue of Bewakoof is approximately $15.1 million. It is a PAN India Brand that sells more than 1 lakh Products per month and shipping around 19000 Pincode across the country.
Marketing and Promotion-
Bewakoof.com doesn’t spend too much money on marketing and advertisement of products, during the initial stage it promotes its products through the Just dial, and Facebook social media platforms. It has two Facebook pages, the first one is 2min Aaya Yaar Taste Mein Hoon and the second one is the bewkoof.com company page. These social media pages received the targeted audience and diverted to the official website of bewakoof.com
It has run the college promotion campaign during the annual events and gave the free t-shirt to the students from the company. It’s had a tie-up with the top E-commerce platform like Snapdeal Seventymm and Indiatimes to sell the fashion apparel on it. They have 10 Bollywood movie merchandise and the License from the YRF to sell the T-shirt with one popular line from their movies.
